The Juventus manager has put an end to doubts over Ronaldo’s future by revealing what the star has told him.

Cristiano Ronaldo has told Massimiliano Allegri that he will stay at Juventus for this season.

With less than a year left on his contract, Ronaldo’s future has become a big talking point. The rumors linking him to several clubs – Manchester United, PSG, Real Madrid, and even Manchester City – have been almost non-stop recently.

The Portuguese ace took to Instagram on Tuesday to slam the disrespectful gossip, and now Allegri has sought to put an end to it as the new season begins this weekend.

“He has always trained well. I just read the gossip in the papers. He never told us he wanted to leave,” said Allegri in a press conference on Saturday.

The Bianconeri boss added: “Ronaldo told me that he is staying at Juventus.”

CR7’s absence from Thursday’s friendly explained

Allegri also cleared the air on Ronaldo’s absence from a pre-season friendly between the Juventus first-team and Under-23 team on Thursday.

The Italian explained he simply gave his star forward a rest from the 3-0 win and backed him to deliver the goals yet again for Juventus this season.

“Ronaldo didn’t play on Thursday because we were coming off a heavy training workload and I gave him half a day off,” said Allegri.

“Ronaldo is an added bonus for us, because he guarantees a large number of goals. Obviously, we also have to work as a team to get the best out of an individual.”

Juventus begin their Serie A campaign on Sunday evening away to Udinese.
