Dele Alli wants Tottenham players to work harder and push for better results in the remaining part of the season.

Jose Mourinho’s side dropped two very crucial points in the tightly wound top-four race during last night’s match against Burnley.

Dele Alli scored from the spot to cancel out Chris Wood’s goal to save Tottenham’s blushes in what could have been a much worse result for them than the 1-1 draw.

Alli, who has been forced to take the goalscoring responsibility following the injuries of Harry Kane and Son Heung-min, also marked scoring his 50th Premier League goal.

But the 23-year midfielder does not take much pleasure from his personal milestone.

“When you’re in the Premier League at this stage, everyone’s fighting and working hard. We have to match that and have the same fight and enthusiasm,” Alli told the club’s official website.

“You have to be switched on throughout the whole game. Your talent isn’t going to be enough. You have to work hard and fight.

“We did in that in the second half and it was disappointing not to get the three points in the end. I’m obviously happy to be scoring. But I would trade the goal for the three points.”
