Alvaro Morata has no plans on returning to Chelsea

Alvaro Morata has announced he will do everything in his power to remain at Atletico Madrid rather than return to Chelsea.

After scoring just 24 goals in 72 outings, Morata ended a troubled 18 months at Chelsea in January by sealing a loan switch to Atletico. He will remain at the Wanda Metropolitano until June 2020.

The Spanish striker has since gone on to score six times in 17 appearances for Atletico and will be looking to add to his tally ahead of Saturday’s La Liga finale at Levante.

And Morata will likely become an even bigger part of Diego Simeone’s plans next season as star forward Antoine Griezmann will leave Atletico in the summer.

Therefore, the 26-year-old has made it clear he has no plans on returning to Chelsea.

“I want to be here, I’m going to do everything I can to continue playing here”, said Morata, according to Daily Mail.

“I did everything in my power to come, and I’ll do everything in my power to stay.

“I do not even consider going to another club. I’m delighted and I think I have to do a lot of things here.

“I do not have anything else in mind, I would like to be at Atletico Madrid all the years that I have left of my career, to be as important as possible in the future.”

Morata could be joined at the Spanish capital next season by Eden Hazard, who is seemingly set to complete a reported €112m transfer to Real Madrid from Chelsea.

“He is one of the best players in the world and can fit well in any team, the team he wants. [He] is a top player and a top person,” he said on Hazard.

Morata himself played for Real across two separate spells, where he scored 31 goals in 95 games. However, a lack of regular opportunities meant his time at the Santiago Bernabeu was cut short.
