Kevin-Prince Boateng appears to not be lacking any self-confidence whatsoever after boldly claiming that he is the Cristiano Ronaldo of Sassuolo
The German spent last season on loan with Bundesliga side Frankfurt and has now followed Ronaldo to the Serie A this summer.
But, despite their very different statures, Boateng bravely compared himself to Ronaldo and is looking forward to going up against him and Juventus in their upcoming campaign.
“Am I the Cristiano Ronaldo of Sassuolo? Maybe yes, but I’m 500 goals away,” Boateng told SkySports Italia.
“I’d like to beat him, but first you have to beat Juventus and they have some other very good players.
“Besides, I can’t do it all alone. I need the help of my teammates, I can’t fight anyone by himself.
“His arrival proves that Serie A is very important, the best player in the world has arrived here and we can only enjoy his ‘landing’ because he’ll show us things we’ve never seen in Italy.”

The former AC Milan midfielder has returned to the Serie A with Sassuolo on a two-year deal.
While comparing himself to Ronaldo is probably a bit too much, there is no arguing with Boateng’s preseason form at Sassuolo this summer with the German having already scored five goals in 180 minutes of football.
Roberto De Zerbi’s side will undoubtedly be hoping that Boateng can carry this goalscoring form over to the new season as they look to improve on their 11th-place finish from the last term.
