Centre back is the biggest issue for Manchester United at the moment and an area several managers have failed to fix.

Victor Lindelof arrived last season but didn’t work out, while the likes of Eric Bailly and Marcos Rojo are others who don’t fit the bill.

Solskjaer has shown he wants to stand by the likes of Chris Smalling and Phil Jones, but they need someone around them.

A big money move for Harry Maguire is already in the offing, so it shows United clearly think signing a centre back is a priority.
