While Neil Warnock will have been disappointed by the result, he could not question the effort put in by his side.

Cardiff battled for every ball and on another day, had luck been on their side, could have picked up a significant result here.

Warnock has plenty of positives to pick from and will need to look to build on them to keep his side up at the death.

The fact his players are fighting and performing like that is positive. Given how poor Brighton are at this moment in time, and the lack of fight they’ve shown, Cardiff have shown they have more than enough to close the gap between both sides.
