VAR has been in the limelight at both the Copa America and Women’s World Cup this summer, and so far it isn’t doing too well.

It’s use here certainly caused controversy, with Chile seeing two disallowed goals courtesy of the video assistant.

Inter Milan's Lautaro Martinez is becoming a regular at the international level, and he's delighted for the opportunity with his national team.

While there could be little debate about the second, disallowed because of handball in the build-up, the first was hugely contentious.

If VAR is going to be as specific as that, and rule against players who aren’t even involved in the play, fans will continue to turn against it.
