Analysis – Four things learned from Liverpool 2-0 Chelsea

Liverpool returned to the top of the Premier League with a consummate 2-0 defeat of Chelsea at Anfield.

With Manchester City beating Crystal Palace earlier on Sunday the pressure was on Liverpool to ensure they did not fall behind in the title race.

They showed no signs of that pressure getting to them, though, as they dominated proceedings against a listless Chelsea side.

Van Dijk must be better: Gullit

According to the former Oranje footballer, Virgil van Dijk is playing really well for Liverpool, but he can do better.

Sadio Mane opened the scoring in the 51st minute before Mohamed Salah ensured all three points would go to the Reds with a sensational strike from outside the area two minutes later.

Eden Hazard had the chance to pull the away side back into the tie but hit the post, ensuring a clean sheet and impressive win for Liverpool. Here’s what we learned from the game:
