Speaking of teams benefitting from an influx of youngsters, no side has done so more than England at the minute.

Gareth Southgate has built his short reign on introducing young players to the international, and that continued here.

Jadon Sancho is now a part of this squad, as are the likes of Declan Rice and Callum Hudson-Odoi and all three have helped to push England forward.

After impressing in the World Cup, England have not rested on their laurels. Instead, as the win over the Czech Republic showed, they’ve built on that success and continued to evolve in a better side than the one that reached the semi-finals in Russia.
