Newcastle headed into this game looking over their shoulders. While they were seven points clear of the relegation zone they weren’t entirely comfortable.

A win at the KingPower has changed that. The Magpies are now ten points clear of the relegation zone. That’s a big enough buffer at this stage of the season.

Gary Cahill recalls the ‘horrible’ ending to his Chelsea career

Gary Cahill admitted his final season at Chelsea was a "horrible" experience, but now hopes to move on as he settles in at Crystal Palace.

Indeed, with five points now separating them from 16th and 17th placed Brighton and Southampton, there’s enough of a buffer for the Magpies to put their feet up.

Benitez will be keen to ensure that they pick up as many points as possible between now and the end of the season, but he’ll be confident that Newcastle will be in the Premier League next season.
