Mane and Firmino on fire
It’s a correct assessment to say that Liverpool’s front three has not been as potent this season. When they find their form, though, there’s no containing them.
That was very much the case here. Firmino was excellent throughout, linking up play and causing all sorts of havoc. His finishes were simple, but he was in the right place nonetheless.
Mane was likewise impressive. His constant running and pace caused headaches for the Burnley backline all afternoon. His finishing was also impeccable for both of his goals, although it did desert him at one stage in staggering fashion.
With Mohamed Salah struggling for goals, Liverpool needed other players to stand up and fill the void. Mane and Firmino did that emphatically here.
