On the subject of making a point, Adam Lallana certainly did that in this game. The midfielder has had little opportunity to shine this season but took this opportunity with both hands.

All of the technical aspects of his game were on show but so too were the physical. Lallana was often the man who instigated and powered Liverpool’s pressing.
