The Italian club will host the Austrian team in the first leg of the UEFA Europa League Round of 16 series.
Italian Lega Serie A club Napoli is ready for the first leg of the UEFA Europa League Round of 16 challenge against Austrian Bundesliga side Red Bull Salzburg.
And for manager Carlo Ancelotti, his team is serene and motivated, even after losing 2-1 against Juventus in league play last Sunday.
“The environment is serene and motivated, the team knows what they need to do and that it won’t be easy,” he told Gianluca Di Marzio.
“The profile will be different, we’ll prepare well. The decisive match for qualification, however, will be next week.”
“Salzburg has a very high rhythm and we need to be ready. The pitch factor will be taken advantage of with intelligence,” Ancelotti added.
“They are aggressive and know how to take advantage of the counter-attack. These are characteristics to keep in mind to play a smart match and avoid surprises.”
“They’re organized and play the matches with intensity, they’re a young team but with clear ideas,” he continued.
“Physically we’re doing well today, tomorrow even better. We’re unpleased with the result against Juve but it’s something that comes from beyond our presentation, which was comforting because we showed we were alive and motivated.”
“The loss against Juve hurts less than some victories because we didn’t feel a sense of incompleteness. I really like how we’re playing at this moment, and hope that we can collect what is produced,” he concluded.
The first leg of this series will be played tomorrow night, while the second will be played on Thursday, March 14th.
