Carlo Ancelotti has urged Everton to put more focus and improve on the defensive side of their game.

Everton were hit with a bump on the road as they lost their latest Premier League game against Arsenal at the Emirates.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin continued his impressive form after giving his side the lead just 49 seconds into the match with a wonderful overhead kick. But Arsenal continued to fight back and eventually came out with a 3-2 victory, thanks to Pierre Emerick Aubameyang’s double.

Speaking after the match, Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti found positives from his team’s defeat. However, he also admitted that they lack defensively and that will be his focus for the following week.

According to the Express, he said: “To be good you have to attack well, which we did. And defend well, which we didn’t.

“So I cannot be satisfied with this.

“If you want to win here against a strong team you have to defend well and you have to attack well. Our attacking play was good, we had a lot of opportunities to score more goals. This is the focus that we are going to have next week. We have to defend better.”
