Former Barcelona and Lyon striker Sonny Anderson believes that the Ligue 1 side could cause an upset at the Camp Nou, despite admitting the Catalans are favourite.
Anderson played at Barcelona from 1997 to 1999 before signing for Lyon, where he played from 1999 to 2003.
And he gave his verdict on the game at the Camp Nou.
“Lyon have shown that they can win at big teams away from home in the Champions League,” Anderson told Radio MARCA.
“Lyon have the quality to surprise, like Ajax or Manchester United.
“Lyon can score in all stadiums, but the most difficult thing is stopping [Lionel] Messi – he said that he wants to win the Champions League and will be very motivated.”
While the Brazilian feels Lyon needs to be respected, he does appreciate that Barcelona are favourites to go through.

“The favourites are definitely Barcelona,” he added.
“The result [0-0] from the first leg is merited to the fantastic goalkeeper that Lyon have [Anthony Lopes].
“It will be very difficult to repeat; it is very rare that Barcelona are not rewarded with a goal.”
Anderson returned to Spain after his spell with Lyon as he joined Villarreal, spending one year with the Yellow Submarine in the 2003/04 campaign.
