Portsmouth winger Andre Green scored a winning goal at 90th minute to book Pompey a place in the third round of the Emirates FA Cup at Rochdale

Green utilized a fine cross-field pass from Dion Donohue and stroke a shot into the net off the post and said after the match via club website:

“It was up there with one of the best moments of my career. My first league goal was against Norwich, so I had a good feeling when I came on.

“It almost seemed to go in slow motion. We’re a good counter-attacking side and luckily Dion spotted my run.

“There was a bit of fortune because of the way the ball ricocheted to me. I’m just happy that the ball came back to me and ended up in the net.

“Scoring in the last minute is always nice and you could tell what it meant from my run towards the Pompey fans.

“The adrenaline took over after that with my celebrations and it’s all about giving something back to the supporters who travelled to back us.”

Speaking about his injury, Green added:

He said: “I want to play every minute, but the team is flying in the league and we’ve got a lot of good attacking players.

“That’s how it’s going to be in my career – I’ll have to work hard because nothing just gets handed to you.

“This is all an important learning curve for me and I know what needs to be done for me to get into this team.”
