Andrea Pirlo’s representatives have announced that he has no plans to come out of retirement
Reports in Australia have recently emerged suggesting that the former Italy midfielder will be making a brief comeback to professional football by playing for Avondale FC in their FFA Cup quarterfinal against Sydney FC on September 19.
The semi-professional side based in Melbourne, who currently compete in the second tier National Premier League Victoria, confirmed that they had indeed approached Pirlo.
But now the 39-year-old’s management team have informed ESPN that a move to Australia is of interest to Pirlo.
The 2006 World Cup winner retired in 2017 after spending the final two years of his playing career at MLS side New York City FC.
Currently Pirlo is aiming to obtain his coaching badges.
