Swedish defender Andreas Granqvist is certain he will not make a shock transfer to Manchester United in the upcoming transfer window
The 33-year-old previously confirmed United’s interest in signing him back in October with manager Jose Mourinho keen to bring in a centre-back.
The Portuguese was left frustrated at Old Trafford in the summer after failing to sign either of his targets in Leicester City’s Harry Maguire and Tottenham’s Toby Tlderweireld.
However, chances of Granqvist arriving this January appear to be all but over following the Swede’s recent comments.
“With 99.9 per cent certainty, we can kill the speculation here and now,” Granqvist told Fotboll Direkt.
“It would be quite sensational, but I don’t think it will happen. Then I do not know if I want to. It’s with Helsinborgs I want to be.”
Granqvist previously spent a short spell with Wigan Athletic in the Premier League between 2007 to 2008.
Nowadays, Granqvist plays for boyhood club Helsingborgs in what is his third spell with the side.
