The renowned British news outlet, Sky Sports, have broadcasted the words of Sweden national team captain Andreas Granqvist regarding his potential January move to Manchester United.

According to some reports from Sweden, the Red Devils are thinking about the 33-year-old defender following some unconvincing displays from Eric Bailly, Victor Lindelof, and Phil Jones. Additionally, with the injury suffered by Marcos Rojo, Jose Mourinho is left short of options, which is why he might be looking for a proven, low-cost solution.

Still, the rumors are yet to be confirmed by the British media, especially considering the fact the Red Devils are well-known for splashing out high figures rather than going after cheap alternatives.

Currently stationed at Helsingborgs IF, the former Krasnodar skipper seems to be overwhelmed by a possibility of landing at Old Trafford.

“I know that there is a lot of interest for me. United is incredibly flattering, but I have not heard anything concrete yet,” he said to FotbollDireckt.

Granqvist has already played in the Premier League with Wigan where he spent two seasons before making a switch to the Dutch Eredivisie side Groningen.
