Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger felt their 1-0 home defeat to Leicester City on Saturday was a “disaster”
Despite having the upper hand over Leicester at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea weren’t clinical in front of goal and wasted a host of chances.
And the Blues’ inability to convert their opportunities came back to haunt them when Jaime Vardy scored in the 51st-minute.
The former England striker, who’s struggled this season at Leicester, finished off a superb piece of play to give the visitors an unlikely win.
Speaking afterwards, a clearly frustrated Rudiger slammed Chelsea’s “stupid” performance with their Premier League title hopes now in tatters.
“It’s a disaster. We don’t talk about the title any more,” said Rudiger, according to the Express.
“If we can’t win these games, we can’t compete. We only talk now about top four. Maybe it’s a lack of mentality. Stupid.”
Maurizio Sarri’s side are now 11 points behind league leaders Liverpool and will next travel to Watford on Boxing Day.
