The Turkey international is determined to prove his worth at Camp Nou amid rumours linking him with a move back to his homeland.
The midfielder has completely ruled out the possibility of him leaving Barcelona to join Galatasaray, given that the close-season in Turkey ends on September 8. The 30-year-old Turkey international is yet to make an appearance for the Catalans, which fueled lots of speculations regarding his future.
However, Arda Turan has been named in Valverde’s 25-man squad for the Champions League group stage and the player himself insisted he intended to honor his 2020-ending contract.
“I’m staying,” he told Beyaz Futbol. “I’m very happy here and I have a contract for another three years.”
“Galatasaray is my home but I know they don’t want me now,” he said. “I don’t want to harm the team.”
