Greek side Olympiacos’ manager Pedro Martins had earlier stated that is side should not be underestimated.

So when the game at the Emirates Stadium appeared bound for an uneventful stalemate, the Gunners were in a satisfactory position.

That plan went out of the window in the 53rd minute, when they let Cisse score for the Greeks.

One apiece and an away goal each. The game was heading for extra time to find a winner.

Mikel Arteta’s men struck in the 113th minute.

The timing was perfect, only seven minutes of extra time left. A sucker punch to Olympiacos and surely passage to the round of 16 for the North London club.

Hold the press and just wait right their.

In the 119th minute of 120, the visitors found one more chance, to knock out last year’s beaten finalists.

The ball fell to El-Arabi who made no mistake and what a goal it was. The Greek tragedy had been turned into a love story.

There was one more opportunity for Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang to get another back and put his side back in the driving seat.

Five yards out, the referee’s whistle in his mouth. but the Gabon international blasted the ball wide.

It was all over, Arteta’s Arsenal has crashed out and the Greeks who have failed to win a single away game in Europe this year are through.
