Arsenal managed to slip into the fifth round of the FA Cup after a tight 2-1 victory against Bournemouth.

As most managers do, Mikel Arteta also decided to drop some of his first-team names on the bench. Eddie Nketiah, who just returned from loan at Leeds United, started in place of Alexandre Lacazette.

Meanwhile, Eddie Howe made six changes to the team that started in the 3-1 victory against Brighton.

Arsenal, who are the record winners of the FA Cup with 13 titles, quickly showed they meant business. Just at the five-minute mark, Gabriel Martinelli dummied his shot before passing the ball to Bakayo Saka who fired it past Mark Travers to take the lead.

The goalscorer turned provider for his side’s second goal. Saka raced down the left flank before turning the ball to Eddie Nketiah to double Arsenal’s lead.

Bournemouth did manage to pull one back late in the game. Substitute Sam Surridge managed to make something out of a poor cross and dinked the ball into the goal, which had to stand a clearance from the VAR. Unfortunately, it was too late for his team to build upon and they were knocked out of the FA Cup.
