Manchester United drop points again, while Ronaldo remains their only hero.
Manchester United were held to a 2-2 against Atalanta in their Champions League clash on Tuesday. The Red Devils continue their inconsistent performances as Cristiano Ronaldo goes on with his incredible run of form.
Atalanta stun Man United twice!
Atalanta started the game with confidence and scored an early goal through Josip Ilicic. La Dea had the chance to double their lead before halftime, but they were not critical enough in front of the goal.
Manchester United were preparing to end the first half being one goal down, but Ronaldo was there to make a difference. The Portuguese superstar scored the equalizer to make it 1-1 for the Red Devils just before halftime.
Atalanta got their second goal of the night ten minutes into the second period. Duvan Zapata ran behind Manchester United’s backline to beat De Gea in a one-on-one situation.
Ronaldo saves Manchester United AGAIN!
Manchester United pushed to get the equalizer, but they had no luck due to the opponents’ solid backline.
However, in the 91st minute, Ronaldo re-wrote the same story of the recent games for Solskjaer’s side, saving Manchester United from another defeat with a stunning volley.
Ronaldo took his goal tally to five in the Champions League. The Man United star is now level with Mohamed Salah and has three goals less than table leader Robert Lewandowski.
The draw will certainly put more pressure on Solskjaer, who is already on the verge of getting sacked by the club.
Man United will face Manchester City in their next league game on Saturday.
