Atalanta President Antonio Percassi is happy with first half of season

Atalanta President Antonio Percassi has expressed the extent of his happiness with their first half of the season which he says he ad never expected.

The Orobici flattened Sassuolo 6-2 on Saturday to end 2018 in eighth place with 28 points. However, having scored 39 goals to surpass Serie A leaders Juventus, Atalanta becomes the top scorers in Serie A so far.

“I couldn’t even dream of such a start.”

“I couldn’t even dream of such a start to the campaign,” President Percassi told the club website as was quoted by Football Italia.

“What we’ve done is extraordinary. We have the most prolific team in the league and could not have done any better than this.

“It hardly feels real and we can continue to dream.”

Throughout last season, Atalanta had a strong run in the Europa League but they were eliminated in the play-offs by FC Copenhagen in August.
