The team’s manager Gian Piero Gasperini believes his team should continue adding points if they want to end in the top four of the Serie A table.

Atalanta is currently in the sixth position of the Italian Lega Serie A table with 48 points.

But the team has only won three of the last five matches they have played, which puts them in a difficult position if they want to qualify to the European competitions next season.

This is why Atalanta boss Gian Piero Gasperini has demanded his team improved in the following matches.

“Our first big objective is to improve our performance levels at home,” Gasperini was quoted by Football Italia.

“If we can take advantage of our home fixtures, we could get near the top. At this point in the season, every game can become difficult.”

“I think about the game against Chievo, but I can see that it’s the case for everyone else. This is a decisive time for everyone and the results carry so much weight,” he added.

“Whoever is in an advantageous position has the opportunity to defend it in the last few games.”

“We must try to find the solutions that we’ve missed lately, especially at home, like set-pieces, which can be important value us,” the boss commented.

“Winning matches right now lets you take a double-jump. Mihajlovic’s done very well at giving Bologna a change of gear.”

“He’s built a balanced but very attacking team,” Gasperini concluded.

Atalanta has nine matches left in the Italian Lega Serie A season, starting with tomorrow’s game against Bologna.

They are also playing in the Coppa Italia Semifinal, where they tied 3-3 in the first leg with Fiorentina, and are set to play the second leg on April 25th.
