With Chinese clubs hovering above, Arsenal are considering making a fresh offer to Aubameyang in order to extend his stay at the Emirates.
According to Daily Mail, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is getting wistful glances from China and in order to avoid any further overtures, Arsenal must act.
Reportedly Aubameyang is a wanted man in China. His sensational displays for Arsenal last season have not gone unnoticed. And it appears that the Gabonese striker has already received head turning offers from clubs in China. Chinese Premier League clubs are swimming in cash these days and such riches are going to affect many clubs in Europe.
It appears that Arsenal could be one of those suffering clubs. As reported by Daily Mail, Aubameyang could end up leaving the club this summer. However, Arsenal are willing to make an effort to make their leading marksman stay. Indeed the club is looking to add more years to his existing contract that expires in two years.
The extension would see the player enjoy a significant improvement on his weekly wages and perhaps a reason to ignore China.
However, it remains to be seen if Aubameyang will be convinced. Reports claim that an unnamed club in China offered the former BVB and AC Milan striker around €420,000 a week which is something Arsenal simply cannot afford.
Regardless, in order to fend off interest from other teams, the Gunners would be hoping that the allure of playing in Europe would outweigh the financial rewards waiting in China.
Arsenal are also looking to tie down Alexandre Lacazette to a new deal. Like Aubameyang, Lacazette is also a key player in Unai Emerey’s side. The duo combined for a whopping 50 goals 21 assists last season. Indeed if either of the men were to leave, Arsenal would be in a grave situation. The duo has exceeded expectations and are an essential part of the club’s immediate future.
