Daniel Farke has suggested that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang does not have the typical qualities seen in a leader.
Last month, Granit Xhaka got involved in a duel with the Arsenal fans. The Swiss international was stripped off of captaincy and the armband was given to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
But Norwich boss Daniel Farke does not see the 30-year-old as a leader. Farke accused Aubameyang of doing antics on the pitch which, according to him, was something captains keep them from doing.
“He’s not a typical leader as the captain is usually a solid defensive player who is disciplined. While Pierre-Emerick is likely to do something crazy on the pitch. It is one of his strengths to do the unexpected,” Farke said as per Standard.
“Now he is more experienced and has always been a great guy in the dressing room and for his team-mates. You can always count on him.”
Daniel Farke also spoke about Norwich’s upcoming match against Arsenal. While considering his team as underdogs, the manager mentioned that they might have a chance.
“We’re not too down after disappointing results and weren’t too high after the Everton win,” he said.
“We remain the underdogs in every game, especially against Arsenal. But we always have a chance.”
