The Blues barely won 2-1 against Cardiff City in yesterday’s English Premier League match and Azpilicueta didn’t like how his team played.
If somebody knows Chelsea really well is Spanish defender Cesar Azpilicueta.
The 29-year-old has been with the Blues in the English Premier League since 2012, after spending his previous years in the Spanish La Liga at Osasuna and in the French Ligue 1 with Marseille.
And after barely defeating Cardiff City 2-1 in yesterday’s EPL fixture, the defender feels embarrassed of the way his team played.
“We have to give them something to enjoy on the pitch. With recent performances, it is normal they are not happy. It’s up to us to turn this around,” he said to Sky Sports.
“We have always had their support in the bad moments, and when things are going well, we all enjoy them together.”
“We have a great chance starting Wednesday [against Brighton] at the Bridge to play a great game and create a great atmosphere,” he continued.
After losing the Football League Cup against Manchester City, Chelsea is still alive in two competitions: the English Premier League and the UEFA Europa League.
Chelsea still has seven matches left before the end of the 2018-2019 season, as they aim to finish in the top five so they can play in Europe again next season.
They are also participating in the Europa League Quarterfinal against Slavia Praha.
Chelsea is in the sixth position with 60 points, after only winning 18 matches out of 31 games played. They have drawn six games and lost six others.
