Eric Bailly is thankful to Manchester United for their faith in him despite his injury woes and wants to make up for his lost time.
Eric Bailly made his return to the pitch recently after recovering from a knee injury.
The Ivory Coast defender suffered a serious knee injury back in pre-season forcing him to miss large parts of this season. Bailly’s only appearance in the Premier League came during Manchester United’s 2-0 win against Chelsea last month.
Despite his injury woes, But Man United decided not to give up on the 25-year old and extended his contract through 2022. And Bailly, who is touched by the club’s gesture, says he is eager to make himself useful in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer‘s plans.
“For me, it was very important,” Bailly told Man United’s official website.
“At a time when I was suffering a little bit and struggling with my injury, the club showed great confidence, enough to extend my contract. And it gives me a real feeling of prestige to be able to continue being part of this squad and this club.
“The feeling then is that I want to pay back that faith and confidence they’ve shown in me and being part of something here.”
