Danny Murphy urges Gareth Bale to consider rejoining Tottenham as he explains how the move would be beneficial for both the parties.

Question marks remain dangling over Gareth Bale’s future at Real Madrid amid speculations about his commitment to the team.

Bale played no meaningful role in Real Madrid’s La Liga success season and was almost entirely frozen out of the team towards the end of the season.

With all the antics on the bench, his behavior indicated that the lack of action is of little concern to him. The 31-year old’s agent also earlier confirmed that he does not intend to quit the club before the end of his contract, that runs through to June 2022.

Regardless, a former Tottenham player wants to see Bale retrace his footsteps and return to the team that once sanctioned his record-breaking deal back in 2013.

“He’s a wonderful footballer and he’s done so much in the game but he’s still only 31,” said Murphy, speaking to talkSPORT.

“I’d be saying to him, ‘go play mate. Just enjoy it. Go somewhere you enjoy it’. I think the one place for Gareth is Tottenham.

“He’s loved there already and he’s got the fans on board. Even if it’s for two or three years, go back to where you made yourself, enjoy yourself and help Tottenham get back to being competitive.”
