Gareth Bale has won the Club World Cup 2018 Golden Ball award following his impressive performances at Abu Dhabi
The Welsh winger proved to be a vital member of the Real Madrid squad this week as they became the first team in history to win three Club World Cups in a row.
Bale proved to be unstoppable in Los Blancos’ 3-1 win against Japanese side Kashima Antlers in the semi-finals by scoring a hat-trick.
In the final itself on Saturday, Bale played the full 90 minutes and helped Real defeat local side Al Ain 4-1 – which nearly saw him repeat his overhead Champions League final goal as well.
Now Bale’s exploits in Abu Dhabi have crowned him the Club World Cup 2018 Golden Ball winner.
Al Ain’s Caio won the Silver Ball with River Plate’s Santos Borre collecting the Bronze Ball.
Last year’s winner for the Golden Ball was Luka Modric, who has since gone on to win this year’s Ballon d’Or.
