Argentine side Banfield admits that Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid target Agustin Urzi may be sold below his release clause to help balance the books.
19-year-old Banfield and Argentina winger Agustin Urzi is rumored to be on the shopping list of several of Europe’s elite clubs. But rumor has it Inter and Atletico are leading the chase.
The player has a release clause, which his club president Lucia Barbuto revealed today.
However, she also admitted that the fallout from the COVID-19 crisis may see the club have to cash in for even less.
She confirmed to FC Inter News, that there is interest in the player and selling him may be inevitable given the club’s financial woes.
“There have been several inquiries, but we have not received any formal offers yet.”
“With the current world situation due to the coronavirus pandemic, we don’t really know what the next transfer market will be like globally.”
“The clause is €30 million. However, in order not to impact the player’s career, and taking into account the effects of the pandemic, we are willing to possibly negotiate even for a smaller figure.”
“But, obviously, we will have to analyze the offer well from an economic and sporting standpoint.”
