Barcelona have some serious concerns over the fitness of Marc-Andre Ter Stegen after he is ruled out for the next two games.
Ernesto Valverde though has returned from the winter break to problems.
The main one being that star goalkeeper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen has returned unable to play.
Spanish football resumes this weekend after a brief winter break.
This time is usually an opportunity for players to recuperate and get back to full fitness.
In an interview reported by Goal, Valverde insists the problem has been ongoing. But has now reached a point where the player can’t go on.
“He’s had some tendon problems for a while and at one point we considered he could be out for a little while.”
“That moment is now.”
“He won’t be available tomorrow and we think it’ll be difficult for the Supercopa.”
When quizzed on the possibility of surgery, the Barca boss would not rule it out.
“I don’t know. We haven’t talked about that. Our idea is that these discomforts go away with time.”
He has often been the difference on the pitch.
