Barcelona has apparently had a UEFA Champions League clause in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s Arsenal contract brought to their attention.

It is no secret that the Gabon international only has 18 months left on his current Arsenal deal, and has been stalling on putting pen to paper on a new one.

Unai Emery has just made him captain in an attempt to convince the player of his seniority and long term position at the club.

But according to El Chiringuito, in Spain, Barcelona power brokers have had a potential lop hole in his current contract brought to their attention.

There is supposedly a UEFA Champions League clause.

The clause effectively allows the player to seek an appropriate transfer should the club fail to qualify for the Champions League for two consecutive seasons.

Should the opportunity arise they intend to exploit it to get their man.

Aubameyang hits back hard at “bulls***” media rumors

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang joined Arsenal in the January of 2017/18 season to try and help the team transition to post-Wenger phase.

Barcelona see him as the ideal replacement for MLS bound Luis Suarez.
