Barcelona remain keen to bring Eric Garcia back from Man City this summer but are unwilling to pay more than €15 million for the defender.
Barcelona still have their eyes on Eric Garcia but are not ready to meet City’s asking price for the defender.
Guardiola recently confirmed that the youngster rejected a contract extension which heightened Barca’s interest. Having started out his career with the Catalan giants, the teenager is now considering a return to familiar territory.
According to ESPN, Barca will try to land Garcia after the conclusion of the Champions League but know it might be a tricky deal to complete this summer.
Man City are said to value the 19-year-old at €30m even though he is heading into the final year of his current deal and does not want to renew with Pep Guardiola’s side as said.
Meanwhile, Barca need to sell to raise some funds and also make some space in the squad by offloading Jean-Clair Todibo and Samuel Umtiti.
The report suggests Barca haven’t yet been in touch with City about Garcia but have been ‘speaking to those closest to the player for months.’
If Barca can’t agree a price with Manchester City then they are said to be willing to wait until January when they can agree a pre-contract with the 19-year-old.
