Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has opened the door for a possible return to the Camp Nou for club legend Pep Guardiola.

Pep Guardiola is currently enduring a tough time as Manchester City boss.

The defence of their Premier League title is not quite going to plan.

Couple that with constant murmurings form the manager about a lack of funds has only fueled speculation about his future.

This is Guardiola’s fourth season in Manchester.

It is important to observe he has never stayed at the same club as the boss for a fifth season.

Guardiola left Barca in 2012 of his own accord, deciding to take a sabbatical before joining Bayern Munich and then City.

In typical Spanish giant fashion, Barcelona president Josep Bartomeu is keenly monitoring the situation surrounding Guardiola.

Ensuring that the foundation is played for any possible opportunity for the prodigal son to return, with some charming if not discrete comments.

Speaking to La Repubblica he clearly opened the door for a return.

He said:

“It was Pep who decided to leave, but the door will always be open for him at Barca.”
