The Barcelona board of directors have made the announcement that the club managed to profit a record of €914 million (£809m/$1.07b) for the 2017/18 season
The announcement on the club website caps off what has been a superb campaign for the Catalan giants, who secured a domestic double in the La Liga and Copa Del Rey titles in dominant fashion.
During the course of last season, Barcelona broke Real Sociedad’s 38-year-old record to set a new unbeaten record of 43 games without defeat.
Ernesto Valverde’s side were narrowly close to actually going the entire campaign unbeaten, before losing to Levante 5-4 in the penultimate game of the season.
But there were no such disappointments in the Copa Del Rey with Barcelona thrashing Sevilla 4-0 in the final back in April.
And now, it appears that the club’s record-breaking run has extended beyond the pitch with their income figures resulting in an operating profit of €32m and a net profit of €13m.
Last year, Barcelona obtained an income of €708m and have set themselves the objective of reaching €1b by 2021.
