FC Barcelona have reached a ‘total agreement’ with CD Leganes over the signing of Martin Braithwaite.
Following their unfortunate injury crisis, Barcelona were granted permission to make an emergency signing outside of the transfer window.
With only allotted a 15-day window, the Catalans did not have much time and had to take quick transfer decisions. And as per reports, they already have made a decision.
Earlier, we reported that Barca were keeping tabs on Danish international Martin Braithwaite. And recent developments suggest they have secured his transfer.
According to a tweet by trusted journalist Fabrizio Romana, Barca have completed signing Martin Braithwaite from Leganes after triggering his €18 million release clause.
Although not officially confirmed by Barcelona yet, the Dane will move to the Camp Nou in the next few days. He will then commit his future to the club by signing a three-and-a-half years contract.
The 28-year old has scored six goals and registered two assists in 24 matches for the Spanish side in La Liga so far.
Hence, Martin Braithwaite can be a major boost for Barcelona as they look to battle Real Madrid in the title race in the absence of Luis Suarez and Ousmane Dembele.
