Barcelona growing weary of De Ligt

Matthijs de Light has still not committed his future to any of the clubs interested in him and that has started frustrating Barcelona.

It is understandably frustrating for Barcelona as the Spaniards await the response of Matthijs de Ligt. The young Dutchman was hotly linked with a move to the Catalonian club. However, his head has been turned by other potential suitors.

The likes of Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain have already offered De Ligt a great proposal to sign for them. Cristiano Ronaldo meanwhile, tried to convince the youngster to come to Juventus.

It is definitely a peculiar situation for the Blaugruna who thought they had the deal wrapped up. De Ligt was supposed to come to Camp Nou without much drama but things have changed quite a lot.

And with the player’s agent being Mino Raiola, it is clear that money is of prime importance for De Ligt. That may not have been the case before but Raiola’s shady past points to this.

Being one of the most in-demand players in Europe gives De Ligt the luxury to choose from his list of elite suitors. But this has started annoying Barcelona.

Solskjaer rues Man United’s shock 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer lamented Manchester United's struggles in both attack and defence as they fell to a shock 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace.

As reported by the Daily Mail, the reigning Spanish champions have grown tired of what has become quite the soap opera. Barcelona see the player as the future of the club but De Ligt has other thoughts.

The Dutch international wants guarantees over his starting role among other things.

Nonetheless, the youngster still gave hopes to Barcelona last week by praising the team.

De Ligt told Marca: ‘Barcelona have great defenders and it is logical and normal that there is competition, but it is not something that frightens me.

‘Of course it would be nice to play with De Jong and [Lionel] Messi at Barcelona, but I must look at what is best for me.’
