The Brazilian forward received a 3-game match ban against Malaga, for sarcastically applauding the referee when he was sent off.
Barcelona believes the ban is an overreaction, and has been trying to find a way around the ban by appealing to the Royal Spanish Football federation (RFEF) and the TAD for a ban reduction of their star forward.
The TAD where supposed to have a meeting today, where it would be discussed if Neymar should receive a reduction of his ban but the TAD couldn’t gather all the necessary people for the meeting. Instead it was announced that TAD would send a formal letter to Barcelona, informing why Neymar can’t play.
According to Marca however, Barcelona believes that Neymar is free to play as they launched their appeal Friday, which means that the administrative process is still open.
Because of this it is the opinion of Barcelona that Neymar can play in the Clasico, but if they choose to bring Neymar to the field they will run the risk of forfeiting the game due to fielding an ineligible player.
