Atletico CEO, Miguel Angel Gil Marin, said his former superstar was going to join the Blaugrana next season.

A few days ago, Atletico Madrid CEO Miguel Angel Gil Marin said his former superstar footballer Antoine Griezmann was going to join Barcelona.

But now the Spanish La Liga current champions have said they haven’t even talked to the Frenchman, even less he will join them soon.

“There’s nothing to announce,” Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu was quoted by Sport.

“We’ve always said the same.”

“We haven’t spoken to him. There’s nothing to it,” he added.

“We’ll see how the market changes in the next few days and weeks.”

Karim Benzema was denied French call-up once again which prompted him to look for other potential solutions in order to play internationally again.

Bartomeu explained what his team will do for the summer transfer window.

“We have all of June, July, and August,” he said.

“We’re talking and planning a strategy, also keeping Barça B in mind, as there are certain players who could be promoted to the first team.”

“There will be some new arrivals and some departures,” he concluded.
