Barcelona set to sign Nelson Semedo from Benfica

    Nelson Semedo, or Nelsinho as he is called, has signed a deal to join Barcelona from Benfica according to the Spanish media. The deal is believed to be around 30 million euros, plus a potential 5 million in add-ons, says Marca.

    A group of Barcelona directors led by Jordi Bordas, Robert Fernandez and Raul Sanllehi traveled to Lisbon today to finalise the deal.

    The transfer has not yet been officially confirmed by the club.

    The right-back played 31 league games as a starter for Benfica in the 2016-17 season, scoring 1 goal and providing 6 assists. He also made 8 Champions League appearances, scoring once.

    If the media reports are true, Semedo will become Barca’s second summer signing, after Gerard Deulofeu’s arrival from Everton.
