FC Barcelona are looking into the Brazilian market after Real Madrid secured the services of a couple of big talents from Brazil.
Barcelona set their sights on Palmeiras’ midfielder, Matheus Fernandes.
The 21-year-old is a surprise signing, given his lack of nation-wide reputation.
However, Barca are obviously looking at Arturo Vidal’s long-term replacement.
Fernandes is a defensive midfielder, capable of breaking up attacks, as well as bursting forward.
He will be joining the B-team first, before making his way to the senior squad.
According to Gerard Romero, Barcelona will pay Palmerias €11 million.
It’s a surprise signing, but could also be a big one for the future for Barca.
