According to Blaugrana midfielder Sergio Busquets, the team will play the UEFA Champions League match in all seriousness.
Spanish La Liga club Barcelona will face French Ligue 1 side Olympique Lyonnais tomorrow in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16.
And for Blaugrana midfielder Sergio Busquets, this means the team will play not underestimate their French rivals.
“I have a lot of respect for Lyon, they beat PSG recently,” Sergio Busquets told reporters as quoted by Sky Sports.
“They have very fast players in the midfield and in the attack, they try to create space. We have to close those spaces.”
Lyon FC is currently in the third position of the French Ligue 1 table with 46 points.
OL has won 13 out of their 25 matches played, drawing seven, and losing five.
They are 16 points behind first-place Paris Saint-Germain and four behind LOSC.
But lately, they have been playing really well to secure a place in the Champions League for next year.
Meanwhile, Barcelona is on the first place of the Spanish La Liga standings trying to separate itself from Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid, who have 47 and 45 points respectively.
“It is going to be a big challenge for us,” coach Ernesto Valverde added.
“But we’re hungry and ready for this game.”
“It is true that scoring an away goal is important because if you don’t, it leaves everything up in the air for the second leg,” he continued.
“Everybody has their opinion but the question is surprising. Maybe we have not created that many chances but we always attack.”
“Tomorrow we will see,” Valverde concluded.
The second leg of the series will be played on 13 March at the Camp Nou in Barcelona.
