Bayern Munich are looking for a quality replacement for Franck Ribery and have identified Julian Draxler as the perfect solution.
The German champions want to take advantage of PSG’s current situation, that are forced to sell some of their players in order to comply with the Financial Fair Play regulations, after having spent €222m for Neymar and committed another €180 for the definitive transfer of Kylian Mbappe from AS Monaco.
Franck Ribery’s contract at Allianz Arena will expire next summer and the club is already looking for replacements for the 34-year-old. Furthermore, Bayern will be looking to continue their efforts of rejuvenating an aging team, continuing the same strategy that had them signing players like Kingsley Coman, Renato Sanches or Serge Gnabry.
Despite not knowing the name of their future manager yet, Bayern’s executives are working hard on shaping the team for next season. Jupp Heynckes has only been appointed until next summer, when a new manager will take over. And the Bavarians want to ensure that their future coach will have all the necessary resources to continue their domination of German football.
For this reason, Bayern are already preparing a bid for Julian Draxler from PSG, according to France Football. Speaking about the replacement of Franck Ribery, Bayern’s president, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said: “The question is whether Franck represents the future of our club or whether it’s better to recruit a new player.”
Furthermore, the club’s sports director, Hasan Salihamidzic, confirmed that Julian Draxler is a player that would fit into Bayern Munich’s style of play: “His profile is what we are looking for”, the former club’s glory said.
