Borussia Dortmund visited the Allianz Arena to go face to face against their fiercest rival.

Score: Bayern 4-0 Borussia Dortmund
Goalscorers: Lewandowski (x2), Gnabry, Hummels (OG)

Hansi Flick had a tough test on his schedule following his appointment. Bayern were set to face Dortmund in their upcoming Bundesliga match. But Flick stood strong as an oak in the challenge.

Bayern started this match without their key players Niklas Sule and Lucas Hernandez. Alphonso Davies and Benjamin Pavard were replaced to fill their gaps.

The match started with great zest, as usual. Both the teams saw early opportunities to get the lead in under 15 minutes. But neither were able to capitalize as they missed their chances.

But 17 minutes in, Bayern got the lead. Pavard put a lancing ball in the box from the right. Robert Lewandowski, who was unmarked, rose the highest to head the ball in the net.

Despite not showing any signs of injury, Sancho was subbed off. Raphael Guerreiro was brought in to replace the Englishman.

Bayern got their second just before the halftime. Muller squared the ball in the box aiming for Lewandowski. The ball missed its target but reached to Gnabry who thumped it into the net to double Bayern’s lead.

Just after the hour mark, Marco Reus and Paco Alcacer came in to replace Mario Gotze and Julian Weigl. But neither of them managed to make their mark on the game.

Lewandowski, who has been brilliant since the start of the campaign, slotted home his 16th Bundesliga goal of the season.

Ivan Perisic, who is on loan from Inter, contributed further humiliation to Borussia Dortmund. The Croatian turned and tricked before sending a low shot. The shot met Hummels before going in, and the goal was written as an own goal by the German defender.

At first glance, Hansi Flick seems to be doing a good job as the interim Bayern coach.
