Bayern Munich clinch the DFB Pokal against RB Leipzig

With a double from Lewandowski and an absolute beauty from Kingsley Coman, Bayern Munich completed the German double vs RB Leipzig.

The DFB Pokal final last season was a total nightmare for Bayern Munich, they lost the match but they had the chance to get revenge against RB Leipzig.

It has been a very complicated season for the German giants, many legends have decided to leave the institution after a long spell at the club.

This will certainly give Bayern Munich the chance to reconstruct itself with a new generation of talents, but they still had this DFB Pokal final to play against RB Leipzig.

The match started with a great set of appearances from Manuel Neuer, he made a specific save at around the 10th minute after a header from a Leipzig player.

Manu made the save and it hit the bar, this was the first of many interventions from the German goalkeeper that saved his squad from certain defeat.

It took the Bayern players nearly half an hour to get what they wanted, the first goal of the evening was the most difficult to score and it came from Robert Lewandowski’s header.

The Polish striker connected a perfect cross from David Alaba from the left and scored the goal that allowed Bayern to control the rest of the match.

The Bavarian squad knew that they had Manuel Neuer on goal, who saved several attempts from RB Leipzig.

The second half gave us many more saves from Neuer, Bayern struggled to find that second goal and they had to wait until the final 15 minutes to get it.

The German goalkeeper would’ve been the MVP of the match if it hadn’t been for Robert Lewandowski, the Polish striker was on point this evening.

But Leipzig played a very competitive second half, they became a real problem for the German giants until a moment of genius appeared.

French winger Kingsley Coman produced a beautiful solo goal that made everybody in Berlin stand up and clap.

The youngster made a turn around that nobody expected and finished with his left foot, this goal is beautiful enough to watch on a loop for hours.

With only 13 minutes left on the clock, Bayern Munich finally scored that second goal that allowed them to breathe.

Bayern Munich finally rule out Leroy Sane move

Chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge confirmed that Bayern Munich won't be plotting anymore moves for Leroy Sane this year.

However, Lewandowski was the player who felt the need to leave his mark on this final.

The Polish striker kept looking for his double until he eventually got it, Lewandowski celebrated that second goal with no regrets by taking off his shirt because he knew that the 2019 Pokal was on Bayern Munich’s side.

With only a few minutes left on the clock, Joshua Kimmich provided a fantastic assist from his side of the pitch.

Lewandowski ran the whole field in order to get this ball with an advantage in front of the goalkeeper, the striker was able to get rid of his marker.

When he stood in front of the Leipzig goalie, Robert released a dink over the goalkeeper that allowed him to score his brace and celebrate as we previously mentioned.

Needless to say, Lewandowski did receive the MVP of the match award after the final whistle.

Bayern Munich didn’t start the season well under manager Niko Kovac but they were able to recover in time.

The German giants won the domestic double despite the poor performances they offered at the very start of the season.

This is a fitting final match for legendary players such as Arjen Robben, Franck Ribery, and Rafinha.

After a good season in German football, it is time for this squad to begin their transfer revolution during the summer.

We will bring all the news about the biggest movements that Bayern Munich makes over the next three months, we expect them to spend big as many other European clubs will.
