Bayern Munich are strongly opposing the departure of Kingsley Coman amid growing speculations linking the Frenchman with a move to Manchester United.
Bayern snapped up Leroy Sane from Manchester City earlier this month, but the German’s arrival represents no threat to Coman’s status at the club whatsoever.
Alongside the likes of Serge Gnabry, Thomas Muller, and Sane, the 24-year-old should play the supporting striker’s role to Robert Lewandowski next season.
Coman has endured an injury-riddled career at the Allianz Stadium, with question marks raising over his head for an injury proneness.
However, the reigning Bundesliga champions have not lost faith in the former Juventus man and will count on him for the 2020/21 season, report the Evening Standard.
Coman’s name has popped up as an alternative to Manchester United’s chase of the Borussia Dortmund whiz-kid Jadon Sancho.
Indeed, the French forward would be a considerably cheaper option compared to the £100million transfer fee the Red Devils should allocate to sign Sancho.
But, United’s efforts to lure the Bayern star to the Premier League will bear no fruits, as the ‘Bavarians’ have no intention of selling the injury-tormented winger.
Coman made just 17 Bundesliga starts throughout 2019/20 due to various injury setbacks but should play a prominent role in Hansi Flick’s side’s Champions League quest in August.
