Bayern have no interest in selling Thiago Alcántara do Nascimento, known simply as Thiago says sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic.

The Spanish midfielder has been linked with a move to Manchester City in a move that would see him reunited with former boss Pep Guardiola at the Etihad.

Sporting director Salihamidzic says Thiago remains a key player for the German outfit for the upcoming 2018-19 season despite the clubs having lots of midfield options.

The La Masia product has also been linked with a return to Barcelona, with new Real Madrid boss Julen Lopetegui also rumoured to be interested in securing his services.

The new Madrid manager who was the former head coach of Spain is keen on working with the midfielder after their two-year spell together in the national team.

However, the midfielder is key to new manager Niko Kovac’s plan according to Salihamidzic.

“Of cos we’re planning with him, despite having a lot of options in his position. We believe he’s important to us.” Salihamidzic said via Goal.

Since signing for Bayern in 2013, the midfielder has won the Bundesliga title on five separate occasions as well as the German cup twice.
